Jon + the family
Jon is responsible for the general management, marketing, vineyard maintenance and winemaking at Fairmont Estate. When there’s a spare moment on the estate he is either on the tennis court or spending time with his dynamic wife, Sandy, and his three sports-mad kids; Lochie, Sophie and Annie.
Our vineyard
Our vineyards are located in the acclaimed area of Gladstone, Wairarapa. Our sites are free-draining alluvial Ruamahunga River terrace, perfect for our grapes to ripen naturally. This climate and soil allows our fruit to develop finesse and complexity.
Our winery
All our wines are crafted by hand in our three-level, gravity-fed winery. This purpose-built winery allows us to put as little stress as possible on the wine-making process, greatly improving the quality of our wines while maintaining excellent energy efficiency.
